Daft Charleston
Oh snap.
Oh snap.
I need to set up some sort of Outlook reminder to keep me up to date with this thing. I just let months slip by without thinking to update all my loyal readers(read: zero) with more Beerstud news.
Though, to be fair, not a whole lot is going on. Beermas was indeed a blast, as forecasted. We met up at B.B. Rovers, exchanged gifts, and drank a lot of beer. That's sort of our thing. Hopefully we'll have a good St. Patrick's Day too.
I wish I had some sort of content other than my ramblings to put up on this website. I've toyed with the idea of starting a webcomic for years; maybe it's time to actually do something about it. Or maybe I could start some sort of "community" website. You know, the kind with "friends" lists. I could be the new "Tom".
you're my friend because i programmed it that way,

So tomorrow is Halloween. I never have the money to get a great costume though, so I just kinda "bleh" through it. One day, I'll own the greatest Cyrax costume ever. I asked the guys at Nightmare Armor Studios how much it would cost, and it's about $3000 or so. Anyone want to donate? I'll totally set up a paypal...
In other news, Beerstud Holidays are just around the corner! Beersgiving may or may not have a big celebration, but just like years past, Beermas will be a blast! We'll have a Drunk Elephant gift exchange, some barbeque or meat loaf or something manly to eat, plenty to drink, and hopefully lots of people!
Though it occurred to me that we need even MORE people. I'll be getting with the rest of the Beerstuds about a possible application process... not that anyone ever comes to our website, but hey, you never know!
focker out,

Come one, come all!
Friday, October 13th, at Emo's Austin downtown, mc chris will be performing.
After the show, mc chris is going over to the Alamo Drafthouse to host a screening of the movie of his choice, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
You can buy a combination ticket for both show and movie here for $18. I just did.
my backpack's got jets,

The infamous Beerstud Mister Mick now has his own blog here. We'll see if he does anything with it. His entries should also appear on this front page. You should check him out. He's way more entertaining than I am.
EDIT: Really? A month since my last post? Okay, I can do better than that.

I've been fiddling around with different layouts for Beerstuds.com, and I think I'll try this out for a little bit. Each Beerstud can have his own blog site if he wishes. Eh.
Oh, and here are our forums.

With the return of the muscle car just over the horizon I've been looking forward to making new car owners jealous of my rumble.
And it looks like my wait may be over. Dodge has jumped the gun in an apparent effort to be the first to release their muscle car comeback.

The new Challenger was unveiled at Detroit. The concept was released just two years ago.
The 2008 model will be available with a 6.1L Hemi V8, comes in orange or black and is only available with an automatic transmission.

Expected options for the 2009 model include a 5.7L Hemi V8, a V6, a 6-speed manual and a full compliment of colors.
It's advertised at 425 horsepower and 420lb-ft of torque, but with performance on par with the 305 horspower 2002 V8 Firebird (0-60 in around 5 seconds, 1/4mile in "under 14 seconds") it's hard to say how it's going to compete against the high end new Mustangs, much less the new LS3 powered* Camaro, looming ominously on the edge of it's release date. For being called Challenger it's not much of a challenge for other vehicles in it's class. Who knows, Chrysler has been known to under-rate stats, maybe it'll actually be a bit quicker.
I'm not a MOPAR guy and as I've discussed previously the Hemi engine design I feel is outdated and used merely for hype. But I think it's an awesome change from the direction motor vehicles have been going for the last decade. It might not be king of the road but I'd rather have one of these try to race me than the failed attempt they wasted the Charger nameplate on.
But let's hope there isn't another Challenger catastrophy...

*Rumored engine in the Camaro - no official data has been released that I have been made aware of

So the PS3 launches soon. Very soon. I'm still afraid of getting mugged on the way out of the store for some reason. All those Xbox360 horror stories, I guess. Though I think I'm more afraid of being offered a lot of money for it. If someone flashed 2000 bucks at me or something ridiculous like that, I don't know what I'd do. I want to play it more than anything, but for enough money, I'd give my left testicle.
I already have my copy of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. It's sitting at home, in all its blu-ray glory, being worthless until I have my Sony: Ultimate Playstation to play it on. I'm probably going to pick up Resistance: Fall of Man as well, and definitely at least one extra controller.
I'm gonna see how many account names I can snag that I know will be popular since they're free. Is that malicious?
So I've picked up the World of Warcraft card game now. It's actually really fun. I'm already certified with UDE for my rules knowledge. Now I just need someone to play with...
PS3 in a month and a half!
PSM3 has a hands-on look of the thing. It's really real! I won't have an HDTV to play it on when I first get it. That's gonna blow. I should be able to get one by the end of December though. I hope.
I just really hope it lives up to the hype I've built up for it. With Ultimate Alliance and White Knight Story and MGS4 and FFXIII and RE5, I don't see how it can't... but you never know. This is a console we're talking about, in a day and age where disappointment is an industry standard. I think I'll be okay though. At least when I get the TV for it.
On a side note, Vs. tournament on Sunday, and mc chris concert the following Friday. Noice.
VS System Pro Circuit Qualifier
I'm getting more and more involved in this stuff. My main reason for going isn't even to play in the tournament, but to become a UDE member so I can take the tests and become a certified game judge and tournament host. Oh, and a game demonstrator.
Plus, who knows, I might win $250. That could buy a lot of cards...
Can anyone tell me the Stardate numbering convention? How is the time measured? How long is 0.1 Stardate? Is it based on the universe's apparent rotation/expansion? Is it relative to Earth? On that train of thought, how is it that every alien encountered is completely familiar with hours/minutes/days? These are all Earth concepts. Or maybe it's just a storytelling device, being that hearing an alien say "You have fourteen thruklars to comply!" would be ridiculous. Plus, you'd need another 5 minutes of airtime to watch the crew scramble through their galactic almanacs to find how long a "thruklar" is; "Two seconds? Fuck!"
I want to be a space captain. But that probably won't be an option for another 1.578 gigathruklars.
If you haven't heard of Team Tiger Awesome, then you might as well kill yourself. The fifth and final episode of 28 Days Slater is up, so go see it!
Well, here's my first personal blog entry. Just kinda testing this out, making sure everything works okay.
Also, I saw GamerZ at Fantastic Fest last night. God it was hilarious, especially being a D&D nerd myself. Plus, I love the Scottish.
